We still have earthquakes every day. This morning, a strong quakes hit again around Miyagi and Iwate prefecture, which allegedly caused a small Tsunami to those area. No damage reported so far. I wonder how much they felt frightened at the moment, though.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been moving these days voluntarily to help those who were caught in disasters. I saw on TV activities like charity concerts or sports games. Various events are being held for charity donation. I wish cities under devastating situation could be newly reborn as soon as possible.

Nuclear problem has not yet settled at all. Detection of radioactivity comes out day by day. This matter might create many unsubstantiated stories as is now happening in fishery industries. No fish is detrimental, our government says. You know, rumors call in rumors. We must distinguish right from wrong.

In Shizuoka, we wake up, work, study, or sleep as usual, thank god. I also see fund-raising activities around the city, which always remind me of the catastrophic day. I wish everything is on the right path. No more tragic news.

● Report as of March 25

Our fighting against the disaster is still continuing. Matters about drinking water that I reported last time are tremendously serious now. They also announced yesterday that some of the workers in the Nuclear Power Plant had been exposed to radiation. So what comes next ? I saw someone saying on TV that God never force us ordeals that we can’t get over. I hope this word is damn right.
In Shizuoka, and maybe in other cities, many events have been called off considering people of Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima suffering from devastating situations. However, time never stops and season changes as long as we live. Spring is just around the corner !

Tokyo Electric Power Company now doesn’t have enough sources of electric supply and because of it, we are forced under Planned Electric Power Outage irregularly. They divided the area under Tokyo Electric Power into 5 groups and today, one of them will be put under outage from 18:20 – 21:20. It’s cold today, going to be rain, the weather forecast announced this morning. So far, 9,811 people have been found dead and 17,541 are still missing. The latest information even told us that the number of the breathless victims had surpassed 10,000. I wish as many souls as possible can be saved alive !

Something that terrified us very much happened yesterday. What is most important for our lives ? Yes, water. Yesterday, TV and newspaper reported that radioactive substance was detected in water around Tokyo. They said that it wouldn’t harm us at all even if we had it every day but also announced that it would not be good enough for babies. I wish it won’t become worse.
As for radioactivity, farmers in Fukushima have been seriously damaged. All vegetables are to be disposed. Mental destruction sometimes causes more despondency than material damage. It hurts me much.
Earthquake strikes every day. Today as well, they had it of Magnitude 4.9 and other minor quakes. Fortunately I felt none of them because I live far away from Kanto or Tohoku area. Transit operations today are as follows.

We feel so blessed that we can live today as usual. So far, we’ve not been reported in Shizuoka that we have some kind of trouble in food, water or transportation and many facilities have been trying to take some action to help and accept evacuees. Up to today, 9487 people have been found dead and 15617 are still missing. This is the worst disaster in Japan. I wish the world will lead us to where we belong to.

Yesterday, I saw on TV that students had a graduation ceremony in the evacuation center. Some girls were shedding tears. I hope weeping become a part of power someday to make a better future.
This morning, they had quite strong earthquakes of Magnitude 6.0 and 5.8 in Fukushima. These epicenters were reported to be off shore Iwaki City. Still, minor quakes don’t seem to stop and more than 30 quakes were confirmed yesterday, and about 25 today, so far.
As for the Nuclear Power Plants in Fukushima, it seems tranquilized for now. However, an awful secondary problem has newly come about. They reported that radioactive substances had been detected from such vegetables as spinach, parsley and broccoli in Fukushima and the cities around Fukushima. On the other hand, donations have been delivered and distributed to many evacuees.

You know, we have amazing or awesome power for restoration just as we did after the World War �U. Affluence may corrupt the human race but I believe poverty in the unstable situation shall make people stronger to create a vigorous society. So far, 9099 people have been found dead and 13786 are still missing. I’m sure we can get over it !

● Report as of March 22

The earthquake itself seems calmed down for now though minor quakes still strike day and night. As for conditions in Shizuoka, we are having days just as usual. I visited my grandma’s house, went shopping and restaurants yesterday. Fortunately, temporary interruptions of electric services were not implemented during weekends.

Supportive activities for procurement of foods and commodities are becoming extensive, which has saved thousands of lives. I hope no one is being starved by now. One of the most emergent problems for evacuees is, I’m sure, that they have no room to live in in the near future. Now, temporary rooms are being prepared around the evacuation centers but these are not enough for all of them. Some regard to live outside their hometown and we are having inquiries about the facilities that may accept evacuees.

Today, I found some newspapers declaring the beginning of cherry blossom season. Cherry blossom is kind of a symbol of Japan and we expect new beginnings and wonderful future from it. I wish it won’t become a sorrow for those who are still forced to live in disadvantageous conditions. So far, 8805 people have been found dead and 12654 are still missing.
