Soccer teams in Shizuoka [Information]

画像(350x262)・拡大画像(640x480)

What do you imagine from “Barcelona”, “Manchester” or “Juventos” ? Yes, soccer team ! We also have “J-league” professional soccer league in Japan and we have 2 teams in Shizuoka out of 18 J1 teams. Surprising, isn’t it ?^^
Shizuoka Prefecture is often known as a Japan’s Soccer Kingdom that has actually ever produced lots of national team players such as Hasebe and Uchida. I used to go to school kicking a soccer ball when I was a kid.
Now, each of our soccer teams “Shimizu S-Pulse” and “Jubilo Iwata” has its headquarters in Shimizu ( Shizuoka City ) and Iwata City. I’m into S-Pulse, by the way ! ^^ My car is decorated with S-pulse goods, telling you the truth.

Jubilo once had Dunga, the previous head coach of Brazil national team, and Scirrachi, an Italian player, and S-Pulse had Ahn-Jung-Hwan of Korea and Massaro of Italia, and recently Fredrik Ljungberg is in our team. J-league has ever had varieties of world soccer heroes such as Zico, Stojkovic, and Littbarski and it’s not too much to say that Japan’s national soccer team owes much to them. I often dream of Messi playing in Shimizu S-Pulse someday seriously.^^

Anyway, our professional soccer league is definitely something ! Please visit soccer stadiums and you will see it. I hope to see you at Nihondaira shouting for S-Pulse together !^^ I often say, by the way, to myself like this ;
“I wonder if I could see S-Pulse win the league champion before I die ?” ^^;

Have a good day !

Chibi Maruko-chan Land in S-Pulse Dream Plaza [Shizuoka]

画像(310x279)・拡大画像(432x389)

When I visited Taiwan for a tourism promotion activity, I was very surprised that Chibi Maruko-chan was so famous and popular as to be inquired by many customers. So today, I introduce one of the most attractive spots in Shizuoka, “Chibi Maruko-chan Land” with pictures provided by a staff there.^^
Chibi Maruko-chan is originally a cartoon about a comical primary school girl “Maru-chan” modeled after a real girl “Sakura Momoko” in old Shimizu City, Shizuoka and it has been animated and broadcasted to this day. “Sakura Momoko” is also the author of “Chibi Maruko-chan” and has ever made the city of “Shimizu” known throughout Japan along with “Shimizu S-Pulse” and “Shimizu Jirocho” ( at least I believe so ).

Now, Chibi Maruko-chan Land is on the 3rd floor in “S-Pulse Dream Plaza” and “Chibi Maruko-chan” in the TV anime world is imaged and created there with her boon family and friends. Once you step in, I’ll bet you will become engrossed in it and maybe you can’t resist buying her goods to your country.^^ I like “Noguchi-san” best, by the way. You know her ?^^

画像(310x225)・拡大画像(611x444)

S-Pulse Dream-Plaza is a huge commercial facility by the sea in which, besides Chibi Maruko-chan Land, a Ferris wheel, Shimizu Sushi Museum, Shimizu Sushi Yokocho ( sushi restaurant street ), movie theaters, gift shops, general stores and restaurants stand. You can take a tour boat as well from Shimizu Port right before the Dream Plaza or “Dream Ferry ( Suruga Bay Ferry )” is also available to Izu Peninlula in 65 minutes. Please come and visit all attractions of S-Pulse Dream Plaza when you stop by Shizuoka.

Have a good day !

Communication with animals ― Fuji Safari Park―2 [Susono]

画像(310x254)・拡大画像(584x480)

After “Safari Zone”, I walked forward “Fureai ( communication ) Zone”. It’s also vast and enjoyable. It took me almost 2 hours to look around, actually.
Now, “Fureai Bokujo” ( communication farm ) comes first where you can touch and feed kangaroos or ride on horses in the pasture. You can also find some members of the Lion King like warthogs and meerkats there. I was lucky enough then because I could see baby tigers, too.^^ My favorite is “Dikdiks”, though. They are tiny as though they fit in the palm of our hands but you know what ? It’s bovid, a species of cow !

“Dobutsu Mura” ( animal village ) is a small zoological park. I was very intrigued by obviously vicious animals named “Lycaon”, wild canines inhabiting in Africa. And I found Hyenas as also in the Lion King. It looks……just ferocious, isn’t it ?^^; Squirrel monkeys were so adorable but be careful not to get your fingers bitten ! In this village, you can see more animals such as capybaras, alpacas and hippopotamuses.^^

Safari Park also has varieties of eating places. 4 restaurants, some snack stands and a bakery are available in Fureai Zone. It’s very nice to walk about viewing magnificent Mt. Fuji ahead !

I stepped in one of the restaurants “Safari Restaurant” to take a late lunch. I ordered the best sales of this restaurant, “Lion Omu-rice”. Isn’t it cute ? And tiger-faced bavarois for desert. All tasted so good, though my heart bled for breaking them apart.^^;

After my stomach satisfied, I visited “Safari Shop”, the huge gift shop beside Safari Restaurant. It has actually thousands of items as you can see from the picture. I found many limited original gifts of Safari Park as well.^^
I attach here a PDF map so that you can image Safari Park better. Please enjoy !

Have a good day!^^

Communication with animals ― Fuji Safari Park―1 [Susono]

画像(350x262)・拡大画像(640x480)

Today, I’ll introduce one of the best attractions in Shizuoka. “Fuji Safari Park” is located at the foot of Mt. Fuji, Susono City, and as its name indicates, you can see various wild animals in nature there.
Now, let me begin with the main attraction, “Safari Zone” ! It’s the very paradise for animals because they can live almost wild in indigenous nature around Mt. Fuji. Accordingly, you tour the world of wild lives by cars, buses, or tour buses called “Jungle Bus”. Walking around is strictly forbidden no matter how brave you are.^^;

画像(310x201)・拡大画像(640x417)

The course requires about 1 hour to tour around. It’s very nice that you can tour Safari Zone as many times as you like with no additional charge in case you get in there in your private car. In my case, I took a Jungle Bus (¥1200 per ride ). They have 9 varieties of tour buses that are shaped and imaged lovely Safari animals. All buses were full of visitors. I took the Lion Bus. In sitting the seat, I was handed a box with vegetables, chicken meats and something’s liver for feeding, which made me nervous and scared a bit.^^;

画像(310x202)・拡大画像(640x419)

The bus moved and the driver began to make an announcement about animal lives. Even if you don’t understand his words, you can enjoy the pleasant atmosphere with English brochures in your hand that can be provided at the information desk.^^
Now, let me introduce some animals in Safari Zone. First come bears ! And you know what ? I fed them vegetables. Ever seen bears right ahead of you ? It’s kind of awesome !

画像(232x189)・拡大画像(588x480)

画像(266x310)・拡大画像(444x517)

Next appear Lions. You can feed them too ! The powerful life, how can I explain ? The lioness resting on the tree gave me the very image of “wildness”. It also made me feel scary even in the bus.

画像(310x222)・拡大画像(640x459)

画像(265x310)・拡大画像(444x519)

Tigers, cheetahs, elephants and other plant-eating animals follow in turn. The might of carnivorous animals and the sweetness of herbivorous animals. Both have the different kind of “wild power”. I felt very congenial when I saw a giraffe walking away into the forest. These scenes always, somehow, remind me of a song of Elton John, “Circle of Life” a theme song of a Disney movie, “Lion King”. I often sing it in Karaoke.^^ “Till I find my place, on the path unwinding~♪” What a song ! Very impressive with profound meanings. In Safari Park, by the way, you can see all the members of Lion King such as lions, warthogs, meerkats and hyenas. I’ll introduce them next time !

Have a good day !^^

To our friends ^^ [Others]

画像(350x262)・拡大画像(640x480)

I’m so sorry that I’ve not updated reports for a long time. I was in Taichung, Taiwan, for the tourist promotion activity of Shizuoka Prefecture last week.
“Taichung International Tourism Expo” was held from Sep 30 – Oct 3 in Taichung World Trade Center, which allegedly gathered 120 thousands visitors in 4 days. Amazing, isn’t it ? I saw lots of associations, communities and tourist agencies in the booth with attractive and appealing ads and brochures on their counter and hundreds of thousands of people passing before our booth. Now, I don’t mean to tell you the details of the expo here but just want to thank every people around who helped me in Taiwan.

謝謝你!^^

画像(310x267)・拡大画像(584x503)

Basically I’m not supposed to get involved in Taiwan Project but that experience definitely provoked something about studying Chinese from inside me. I’ll try, maybe, possibly……^^;

By the way, we’ve already been moving for the next tourist exhibition in Taipei and Kaohsiung, Taiwan.^^ I hope we can have lots of customers again to motivate the airline companies for more frequent direct flights to & from Shizuoka & Taiwan.

Have a good day!^^
