On the handling of personal information (privacy policy)

When Shizuoka Guide, Hello Navi Shizuoka receives opinions, suggestions, or inquiries, it shall (based on the bylaws of Shizuoka Prefecture on safeguarding personal information) acquire, retain, manage, use, and provide said personal information carefully according to the following stipulations.

Personal information defined

Personal information is information including names, addresses, mail addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, etc., provided through the website of Shizuoka Prefecture and that can be used identify a specific individual.

Limits on retaining personal information

When retaining personal information, the purposes of its use are to be made as specific as possible.

Personal information that is not necessary to the attainment of the purposes of use will not be retained.

Limits on acquiring personal information

Personal information shall in principle be acquired from the person in question in a legal and proper manner.

In principle, personal information touching on ideology, beliefs, or religion shall not be acquired.

When acquiring personal information directly in writing from the person in question, in principle the purpose of the information is to be clearly disclosed to that person.

Proper management of personal information

Personal information shall be factual and within the limits of the purpose of use.

Measures shall be taken to preclude the leakage of personal information.

When consigning the handling of personal information, necessary measures shall be taken to safeguard it.

Limits on using and providing personal information

In principle, retained personal information shall not be used or provided to a third party other than for the purposes of use.

When providing personal information to a third party, necessary measures will be required of the third party to safeguard that information.

When providing personal information across online computer networks, necessary measures shall be taken to safeguard it.

Disclosure and amendment of personal information; requests for termination of usage

Regarding the retaining of personal information by the Shizuoka Prefectural Tourism Association, anyone may request the disclosure of their information.

(The legal guardians of minors or adults with legal wards may make this request on their behalf.) If the disclosed information for that person is discovered to be factually in error, a request for the amendment of the information may be made.

If the disclosed information for that person is suspected of being used in an improper manner, a request for termination of usage, erasure, or the termination of provision to another party may be made.
